Casino Group's commitment to sustainable development
The Casino Group's commitment to sustainable development is based on 110 years of social, societal and environmental innovations. It took on a new dimension with the signing of the United Nations Global Compact in 2009, followed by the creation of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department.
This CSR approach helps to create and foster long-term, trust-based relationships with all stakeholders, especially employees, customers and suppliers, in the respect for cultures and local practices of the countries in which the Group operates.

The priorities for CSR actions, which are at the heart of the Group's activities, are one of the levers for motivating employees, and are designed toimprove the company's social, societal and environmental impact, and its financial performance.

The progress approach was built in full coherence with the nine commitments of the Group Ethics Charter, which refers to the principles set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
the ILO fundamental conventions and the ISO 26,000 standard.

To deploy its approach, Casino set up
A CSR strategic committee composed of twelve members, including eight members of the executive committee
A network of CSR correspondents in France and abroad. In France, this network is
complemented by “Promotion Diversity” correspondents
The CSR management whose role is :
Manage the group’s CSR approach, in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26,000 standard and organize the dialogue with the stakeholders.
Reinforce the consideration of CSR issues (environmental, social and societal) and its management in all of the group’s activities and countries of operations by defining priorities.
Report Casino’s CSR policy and the companies in all countries where Casino is present,
in accordance with stakeholders’ expectations and reporting obligations.

The national packaging pact: one year on

The Casino group signed the National Pact on plastic packaging with the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition.
